25 Years of BMA

Tomorrow, on the 4th day of April, our Lord’s Year two thousand and nine the beautiful, sometimes even romantic Campus of United Theological College will be graced with the presence of the sons and daughters of BMA. For those who have been serving for BMA since the day it was born, it will be a day to remember, a day which will always linger on their minds. And for some, it will bring back all the sweet memories of the years that had passed and the loved ones who had gone for their eternal rest. People of different emotions, different age groups and different backgrounds who are brought together by the very BMA will get together to celebrate the 25 years of BMA. Long live BMA !

As I am sitting here in my room in Bhubaneswar, my memory takes me back to those happy days we had in Bangalore. BMA was and still is a part of my life. What BMA did for me was rather noteworthy than the little things I did for it. It taught me how to deal with this life, shaped me into a better human being. Yes, it taught me how to take life more seriously. I used to feel sorry for our mizo friends who chose to keep themselves aloof from the BMA due to their ignorance of what BMA could do for them and what its like being an active member of BMA. How does one know that he does not like an apple until he taste one ? So friend, go ahead and fill up the membership form. If you ever regret it, get back to me. But, I know that you wont have to get back to me with any kind of regrets.

I do wish that I could steal some time, run away from this hectic schedule of mine and this raging temperature of Bhubaneswar, just to be there for the celebration, to walk once again on those green grass of UTC. But, that seems to be just another summer dream..listen, the kids are calling me to play basketball !

All the best BMA and Happy Birthday !
